Elly Mazlein Tidak Gentar Bergelar Isteri

Mengikatkan tali pertunangan lebih setahun setengah bersama pengarah, Azmi Hata sedikit pun tidak mengentarkan hati pelakon drama Amukan Pocong, Elly Mazlein. Berkata kepada OHBULAN!, “Sebenarnya saya sudah bersedia untuk bergelar seorang isteri apabila memutuskan untuk berumahtangga dengan Azmi & 2 orang anaknya, malah saya ingin hidup susah senang bersama.”

Menyentuh mengenai persiapan majlis, Elly menyatakan bahawa persiapan perkahwinan sudah siap lebih 50% walaupun sibuk dengan kekangan masa dan komitmen kerja.

“Walaupun sibuk, kami tetap membuat persiapan perkahwinan yang dijadualkan akan berlangsung pada akhir tahun ini. Alhamdullilah, keluarga turut membantu untuk merealisasikan impian saya yang mahukan sesuatu yang indah di majlis perkahwinan nanti. Majlis nikah & resepsi dijangka akan diadakan di Bukit Kiara Ekuastrian Resort pada hari yang sama. Walaupun begitu, saya tetap ingin berserdahana,” ujar Elly Mazlein lagi.

Ditanya pula mengenai kesan lebam di dahinya, Elly Mazlein membalas bahawa kecederaan tersebut berpunca daripada kecuaianya yang terjatuh ketika menjayakan babak dalam drama Amukan Pocong.

“Ketika berlari, saya tergelincir lalu jatuh dan kepala saya tersagat di kayu. Darah yang keluar tak banyak, tapi kesemua krew memang panik dan mereka menyarankan saya supaya berehat dulu. Nasib baik penerbit sangat prihatan dan dia membawa saya bertemu dengan doktor.”

    ‘WWW’ registration numbers open for booking on April 30

    The three-alphabet Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur number plate series is nearing an end, and those longing for a ‘WWW’ registration number have just a short wait before a bidding war starts. Besides the nice triple alphabet arrangement, ‘WWW’ also stands for the World Wide Web.

    Interested parties can place their bookings with the Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Road Transport Department (JPJ) beginning April 30. Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha said order books will be open for 14 days, from 8 am till noon daily till May 14, adding that huge interest could see the ‘WWW’ series record the highest booking price in the country.

    He said the value of a premium number from digit 1 to 10 will open with a minimum selling price of RM10,000, while “attractive numbers” would be sold at a minimum of RM2,000. The “popular numbers” category and running numbers open at a minimum of RM300. Booking forms can be downloaded from the JPJ website.

    The highest bid for a number plate so far is MCA1, which sold for RM300,100 in 2010. The Melaka reg no surpassed the previous record of RM242,000 for TAY1, issued by JPJ Terengganu. What is your dream registration number, and how much are you willing to pay to secure it?

    Amukan Pocong Dahagakan Darah 13 Gadis Sunti!

    Selepas drama “Santau Merasuk” menutup tirai, nantikan kemunculan drama bersiri terbaru slot SERAM, “AMUKAN POCONG” terbitan Padi Pictures Sdn Bhd yang akan mula bersiaran pada 15 Mac 2012, setiap hari Khamis jam 9.30malam, di TV3. Drama mengisahkan Long Husin, seorang kaki judi dan 2 orang rakannya yang sanggup melakukan apa sahaja demi memenangi pertaruhan terbesar termasuklah menjalankan upacara ilmu hitam selepas berjumpa dengan bomoh Siam.

    Walaupun berjaya mendapat habuan besar pertaruhan, namun tindakan mereka juga telah membangkitkan pocong yang kini berkeliaran ganas dan menuntut darah 13 gadis sunti seperti yang telah dijanjikan sebelum ini. Lebih tragis, tidak lama kemudian Long Husin sendiri terbunuh dan ilmu hitam yang telah memakan diri menyebabkan jasad dan rohnya tidak aman sehinggakan terpaksa menanggung akibat menjadi pocong yang digeruni semua penduduk kampung.

    Mala bermula kisah ngeri Long Husin yang kini harus mencari dan membunuh 13 gadis sunti untuk melunaskan janji yang pernah dibuat dengan syaitan akibat dorongan perasaan tamak haloba. Siapakah yang bakal menjadi mangsa amukan si pocong dan siapa pula yang berjaya menumpaskan kuasa ilmu hitam ini?

    Menurut Puan Nurul Aini Abu Bakar, Pengurus Besar Kumpulan, Kumpulan Pengurusan Jenama TV3 & TV9, “Sebenarnya ramai kalangan masyarakat bukan sahaja Cina dan India, malahan kaum Melayu sendiri sudah didedahkan dengan aktiviti berunsur judi seperti permainan tikam-tikam, seterusnya permainan komputer dan video dari zaman kanak-kanak sehinggakan apabila mencecah remaja mereka sudah biasa dengan perkara itu. Apa yang dikesalkan, orang kita tidak berfikir panjang tentang dosa dan akibat buruk yang timbul, tetapi lebih mementingkan wang ringgit sehingga sanggup mengadaikan maruah orang lain dan keluarga sendiri.”

    “AMUKAN POCONG” menampilkan pelakon-pelakon hebat seperti Azhan Rani, Ezany, Iqram Dinzly, Elly Mazlin, Nabila Huda, Neelofa, Namron, Sharifah Sakinah, Izara Aisyah, Siti Elizad, Faralyna Idris dan ramai lagi.

    Bekas Adun BN Akan Dedah Tembelang Najib

    Bekas Ahli Dewan Undangan Negeri (Adun) Pulau Manis, Datuk Mohd Ariff Sabri Abdul Aziz berkata, beliau sedia mendedahkan tembelang sebenar sikap Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dalam mentadbir negara.

    Menurutnya, pendedahan tentang Najib yang menguasai perlimen Pekan sejak Allahyarham bapanya Tun Abdul Razak Hussein meninggal dunia itu akan dibuat dalam satu ceramahnya bersama Timbalan Presiden PAS, Mohammad Sabu pada 15 Mac ini di Pekan, Pahang.

    Mohd Ariff berkata demikian ketika ditemui dalam sesi Cakap-cakap Bersama Harakah di Pejabat Editorial Harakah dekat sini baru-baru ini.

    Mohd Ariff  yang juga bekas Ketua Penerangan Umno Bahagian Pekan berkata, beliau sangat mengenali Najib dan peribadi Perdana Menteri itu dalam berpolitik serta pentadbiran.

    Ini kerana beliau pernah menjadi orang penting Umno selaku Ketua Penerangan Umno Bahagian Pekan dalam mengembalikan sokongan ke atas Najib selepas hampir tewas pada Pilihan Raya Umum ke-10 (tahun 1999).

    Mohd Ariff yang terkenal dengan blog Sakmongkol berkata, Najib bukanlah seorang yang tegas dalam kepimpinannya, sebaliknya hanya menggunakan taktik ‘membayar’ untuk mendapatkan sokongan.

    Beliau yang sangat Ariff dengan sikap politik Najib berkata, Perdana Menteri itu hanya mahu dengar yang ‘indah-indah sahaja’.

    Ia termasuklah apa yang berlaku di Pekan semasa hampir tewas di tangan PAS pada pilihan raya umum ke-10 tahun 1999, katanya.

    “Saya ada sebutkan dalam blog saya, penerima subsidi terbesar di Malaysia ini ialah Najib, kerana beliau dapat Parlimen Pekan kerana subsidi daripada kawasan Allahrayham Tun Razak, jadi Timbalan Perdana Menteri (TPM) sebab baba saudaranya Perdana Menteri, dia jadi Naib ketau Pemida Umno sebab dia ikut Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim,

    “Dia (Najib) tidak pernah berlawan, gaya dan kepimpinan itu dia tidak ada, dan bekas Menteri Kewangan, Tun Daim Zainuddin sendiri mengakui bahawa keburukan Najib ini tidak tahu mentadboir negara ini dan hilang punca,

    “Najib ini tiada wawasan, dia ini mentadbir dan urus negara macam urus Umno Bahagian Pekan, dia baik dengan sana-sini bukannya untuk menyatukan, dia ini juga tidak berani, dia ini macam lalang,” ujarnya lagi.

    Ferrari F12berlinetta – Maranello’s fastest ever road-car

    Ferrari has unveiled its F12berlinetta online, ahead of the car’s official unveiling at the Geneva show next week. The new V12, which will debut a new Rosso Berlinetta three-layer shade, is heralded as the most powerful and high-performance Ferrari road car, ever.

    Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre and Pininfarina, the coupe is powered by a 6.2 litre 65° V12 mill offering 740 cheval vapeur (CV), which translates to 730 hp, and a peak torque of 690 Nm at 8,700 rpm, 80% of which is available at just 2,500 rpm. The engine is mated to the F1 dual-clutch transmission, which has closer gear ratios developed specifically for the F12berlinetta.

    Performance figures are a 0-100 km/h time of 3.1 seconds, and the car manages to get to 200 km/h from standstill in 8.5 seconds. It also completes a lap of the Fiorano circuit in one minute 23 seconds, faster than any other Ferrari road car. Dynamic highlights include smaller steering wheel angles, shorter stopping angles, increased cornering speed and immediate turn-in characteristics.

    Layout-wise, the traditional Ferrari transaxle layout has been reworked – the wheelbase has been shortened and the engine, dashboard and seats have been lowered in the chassis, while the new layout of the rear suspension and gearbox have enabled Ferrari’s engineers to make the rear volume of the car smaller.

    The overall result is a very compact car with a lower centre of gravity that is further back in the chassis, and a level of aerodynamic efficiency that sets new standards, the company says.

    The car features an all-new Scaglietti-designed spaceframe chassis and bodyshell, which utilises 12 different kinds of alloys, some of which are being used here for the first time in the automotive sector, with new assembly and joining techniques at work. There’s a 20% increase in structural rigidity while bringing the weight down – the car weighs in at 1,525 kg, 70 kg less than the previous V12 coupé.

    There has been significant attention to aerodynamic development with this one – downforce has been boosted by 76% (123 kg at 200 km/h), while drag has been significantly reduced, and the car features a Cd of 0.299.

    Aerodynamic-related innovations include an Aero Bridge which uses the bonnet to generate downforce by channelling air away from the upper part of the car to its flanks – where it interacts with the wake from the wheel wells to decrease drag – and an Active Brake Cooling system that opens guide vanes to the brake cooling ducts only at high operating temperatures, to reduce drag.

    Inside, the car wears an all-new Frau leather interior, and highlights include new carbon fibre and aluminium air vents inspired by the aeronautic field. The company adds that the cabin has been optimised to ensure maximum usability of the interior space with additional luggage capacity behind the seats.

    As for standard kit, the F12berlinetta has the latest generation carbon-ceramic brakes (CCM3) and a SCM-E magnetorheological suspension control system, as well as the now usual integrated control system that groups E-Diff, ESP Premium, F1-Trac and high-performance ABS together.

    LC Super Hybrid – going the lead-carbon battery route

    Yet another hybrid is set to take a bow in Geneva, but this one walks a slightly different path. The LC Super Hybrid, as it’s called, shows what can be achieved through electric hybridisation at low voltages (12-48 volts) using the latest lead-carbon batteries.

    Conceived by Controlled Power Technologies (CPT) and the Advanced Lead-Acid Battery Consortium (ALABC), the production-ready micro-mild technology offers the potential of a mass market, petrol-powered, large family car with superb drivability, impressive performance and excellent fuel economy achieved at substantially lower cost than an equivalent diesel model.

    Based on a series production 1.4 litre turbocharged VW Passat TSI model, the LC Super Hybrid is set to provide carmakers with real world validation of the pioneering technology. The tech comprises a Valeo electric supercharger (powered by the battery), next generation belt-integrated starter generator with an advanced belt tensioning system, carbon enhanced valve regulated lead–acid (VRLA) batteries which avoid the need for super-capacitors, and higher gear ratios to reduce engine speed.

    Recalibration of the engine has increased power from 122 to 142 PS and torque from 200 Nm to 275 Nm. This output is comparable with VW’s bigger 160 PS and 250 Nm 1.8 litre TSI gasoline engine. Despite the enhanced gasoline engine performance, the vehicle achieves near diesel levels of fuel economy, but with substantially lower production costs.

    The Passat demonstrator weighs in at approximately 1,530 kg, with its upgraded battery pack and on-board test equipment adding about 79 kg to the kerb weight of the baseline vehicle. However, much of this additional mass, including the test equipment, would be eliminated in a production vehicle as well as the existing starter motor, which is made redundant by the belt-integrated starter generator.

    Figures provide the necessary validity – the LC Super Hybrid delivers CO2 emissions of less than 130 g/km compared with 140 g/km for the baseline Passat 1.4 litre TSI, which is already best in class.

    Similarly, fuel economy is a claimed 5.6 litres per 100 km, an improvement over the 6.2L/100 km for the 1.4 TSI, measured over the standard European drive cycle. Performance-wise, the LC Super Hybrid gets to 100 km/h from standstill in 8.7 seconds, an improvement of 2.5 seconds over the 1.4 TSI’s 11.1 seconds.

    Proton Green Mobility Challenge 2012 – local university students to create their own ‘Saga EV’, finals in October

    Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak yesterday launched the Proton Green Mobility Challenge 2012 (PGMC), a challenge jointly organised by Proton and Agensi Inovasi Malaysia (AIM) that will see local uni students develop an electric vehicle from a standard internal combustion engine powered Proton Saga.

    The participating universities are UTP, UNITEN, UTeM, UNIKL MSI, UMP, UNISEL, IIUM, UTM, UNIMAP and UKM. Each team will modify the Saga according and compete in the finals, which will be held from 4-7 October this year. Each car’s performance will be put to the test and four factors will be taken into account – distance achieved, quarter mile acceleration, fastest time for two laps, and top speed.

    The organisers say that PGMC 2012 is in line with AIM’s objectives of facilitating wealth creation via innovation. The statutory body serves to formulate and implement the strategies towards enhancing the national innovation eco-system and creating new-wave wealth from innovation in the country.

    “Sustainable mobility is dependent on three equally critical components coming together; firstly the ability of car manufacturers to commercially make available a new generation of vehicles in the most cost-efficient manner.

    “Secondly, the willingness and support of Governments and policy makers in formulating long-term legislations which would not only enable car manufacturers to map out future investment plans but pave the way for what is thirdly, greater consumer awareness for green technology and their acceptance of alternative fuel propulsion systems such as hybrids and electric vehicles,” said Proton Group MD Datuk Seri Syed Zainal Abidin.

    Like the Perodua Eco Challenge, this challenge allows undergrads to practice what they learn – nothing like competition to bring the best out of us, right? Anyway, while there could possibly be a trick or two that can be learned from PGMC entries, Proton already has competition winning EV technology under development.

    Mitsubishi i-MiEV Prototype racer to take on Pikes Peak!

    The sketch above is a preview of an upcoming all-electric racer that Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will be entering in the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, an annual event set to happen in Colorado on the 8th of July 2012. The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is an annual automobile and motorcycle hill climb to the 4,300 meter summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado with entrants covering an elevation difference of almost 1,500 meters.

    The EV racer is called the Mitsubishi i-MiEV Prototype, and it is based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV. You can actually still see the i-MiEV in the middle, but it’s surrounded by what appears to be one mega huge widebody that extends both the length and width of the i-MiEV, presumably to make the egg-shaped car more corner-friendly. MMC will use the data obtained through its participation in the event to enhance the durability and reliability of pure EVs and plug-in hybrid EVs which it will be bringing to market in the near future.

    The i-MiEV Prototype will be driven by Hiroshi Masuoka, a legendary race driver whom during the course of decades of racing success took on the brutal Dakar Rally 21 times, winning it consecutively in 2002 and 2003, driving Mitsubishi Pajero and Pajero Evolution models respectively.

    PSA Peugeot Citroën forms alliance with GM – platform sharing, joint purchasing and development on the cards

    PSA Peugeot Citroën and General Motors have formed an alliance. The move will see the US carmaker buy a 7% stake in PSA as part of a share issue by the French automaker. GM says it expects to spend from $400 million to $470 million on that.

    “This partnership brings tremendous opportunity for our two companies. The alliance synergies, in addition to our independent plans, position GM for long-term sustainable profitability in Europe,” said GM CEO Dan Akerson. But “each company will continue to market and sell its vehicles independently and on a competitive basis,” the statement added.

    The scope of the alliance includes the sharing of vehicle platforms, components and modules, and the creation of a global purchasing joint venture for the sourcing of commodities, components and other goods and services from suppliers with combined annual volumes of approximately $125 billion. Bigger buyer gets better deals, as always.

    There is also talk on joint development. GM and PSA said the alliance will at first focus on small and midsize vehicles, MPVs and crossovers. The carmakers may also develop a new common platform for low emission vehicles, with the first model expected to debut in 2016.

    Cost savings from the deal will be limited in the first two years, but will eventually amount to $2 billion annually, split equally, the companies said. The deal is expected to close and take effect by the second half of this year.

    GM is certainly not new in linking up with other companies. The US carmaker had shares in Suzuki Motor Corp, Isuzu Motors and Subaru maker Fuji Heavy Industries before disposing off the stakes few years ago. In the same period, but in Europe, GM had to pay Fiat to end an unsuccessful alliance. They also flirted with Renault-Nissan before. GM’s Opel brand is not doing well at all in Europe, and this move has it in mind.

    On the other hand, Peugeot has a better track record with other carmakers, including JVs to build commercial vans with Fiat and an engine partnership with BMW. PSA also makes diesel powertrains with Ford and sells Mitsubishi models in Europe with its own face and badge.

    MWC Day 5: Android Wonderland & Awesome Lobster!

    So on the 5th day,,.. which was today.. we had a Q&A session during breakfast and head off to MWC at noon.

    I spent most of my time at the Android area as they had games, and were giving out Ice Cream Sandwiches all the time. Yummy!

    The guys at Nokia were giving out stuff and I won myself the new NFC Bluetooth Headset with OLED screen and radio!

    So basically the whole day I was walking around looking at new gadgets.

    At night we went for dinner and lookkkkk at my lobster… awesome

    Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet – the Mk6 goes topless

    Ah, nothing like taking the top off things to give a new spin to a venerable fave, and it was bound to happen with this one at some point. Looks like the folks at Volkswagen have decided to rip the lid off the Mk6 Golf GTI and come up with a convertible version of the hot hatch.

    Yes, the Golf GTI Cabriolet, which is making its debut in Geneva, packs in all the performance and practicality of the GTI hatchback, but adds the pleasures of open-air motoring for four, thanks to an electrically-powered fabric roof which can be folded away in just 9.5 seconds and is operable at speeds of up to 30 km/h.

    Visually, the Golf GTI Cabriolet bears all the classic GTI design cues – the radiator grille has a honeycomb structure with red edging and the GTI badge, while the front bumper incorporates a deep honeycomb air dam and distinctive vertical fog lights. A bespoke rear diffuser is framed by a chrome tailpipe on either side, and smoked LED tail lights complete the look.

    The car comes with the standard 17-inch Denver type alloys with their five prominent openings, fitted with 225/45 tyres, though an optional 18-inch Detroit wheel, with machine-polished surface and contrasting black inner surfaces, is available.

    Under the bonnet is the same 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine as found in the hatchback, offering 210 PS and 280 Nm, mated to either a standard six-speed manual gearbox or optional six-speed DSG transmission. It’s a shade slower to the 100 km/h mark than the hatch, doing so in 7.3 seconds with either transmission (vs 6.9 seconds for the hatch), while top speed is 237 km/h.

    Under the insulated, fully automatic roof, you’ll find four individual seats covered in the classic tartan Jacky cloth upholstery, with an option to go the Vienna leather path. Elsewhere, the hood lining and roof pillar trims are finished in black.

    Safety-wise, as like all Golf Cabriolet models, the GTI Cabriolet comes with automatically deploying rollover protection, front and side head/thorax airbags and a driver’s knee airbag as standard.
